Rob Noy
Owner & Head Coach

  • Instagram

As an early adopter of the CrossFit methodology,

Rob has poured his life into CrossFit CrossAxed and continues to do so.

With over 10 years of CrossFit coaching experience, and an additional 5 years of Personal Training prior to that, Rob brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the gym and his team of coaches.

Along with coaching, Rob was also a professional Firefighter with the Queensland Fire & Rescue service for 17 years and while working on the front line he also trained & lead rescue teams for a majority of that time. This affords him an amazing perspective and honesty uncommon to most.

Rob's qualifications extend far but to list a few:

CF - L3

National Weightlifting Coaching Accreditation

CrossFit Gymnastics Advanced

CrossFit Mobility

CrossFit Endurance

CrossFit Football

CrossFit Level 1, 2 & 3

Cert IV Personal Training

As mentioned Rob specialised in Rescue within the fire service which included:

Vertical Rescue

Swift Water Rescue

Urban Search and Rescue

Confined Space Rescue

Trench Rescue

Remote Rescue

A word from Rob - My passion for health and life is quite simple, I believe no one should miss out on doing things due to the state of their health or physical condition. Seeing parents unable to play with their kids or people not being able to do a physical task due to being overweight is heartbreaking. CrossFit sounds like a cult from the outside looking in but the reason everyone is so passionate is it truly is the best health program in history. It is for those pursuing excellence, those who understand doing what's easy and expecting results is a fool's errand & lastly it is for those wanting to be better no matter where you are starting. If that's you I would love you to join our team.

Further to this, Leah and her colleagues completed the Birdbox Coaches Development course, a CrossFit Preferred Course, learning invaluable skills to further enhance the coach-athlete relationship. It is Leah's passion to constantly grow as a coach and a leader, and ensure all her athletes are moving safely and finding the right progression for them in every class.

Leah is our Operations Manager, stepping into coach every so often. She records weekly podcasts with Rob, discussing many different topics from a holistic perspective, with the hope this will help our members in all areas of their lives, not just as athletes. We wish to motivate and engage our members beyond the gym floor, and approach our Member Experience with great detail and care.

When Leah isn't coaching, you'll see her on the gym floor with members or taking care of various duties to assist Rob & Alex on the operational side of the business. Leah trains daily to remain strong and focused, and in her spare time you'll likely see her with her dog in tow, Frankie.

Craig Edwards
Coach

  • Instagram

Craig has been training in CrossFit since 2021 when he became a member of Crossfit CrossAxed. He joined CrossFit with a background of 10 years experience in Olympic Weightlifting, having competed in various levels of competition over that time.

Craig began his Weightlifting journey in 2013 under the watchful eye of a former Australian Olympic head coach, quickly learning that he had a passion for the sport as an athlete. Over the years, his passion for the sport itself grew into a love for coaching. Craig assisted in coaching Weightlifting as a volunteer for many years, which helped shape him into the CrossFit Trainer we see today, with a unique and quick eye on our athletes.

Naturally when Craig began CrossFit, his passion for sport and coaching were united. He began coaching CrossFit in 2022 and has continued to progress! He is currently a Certified Level 2 CrossFit Trainer.

Craig’s main goal as a coach is to make a positive impact on the lives of the members who come through the doors at CrossAxed, and we see this in action each time he steps into the gym! Craig is a natural when it comes to coaching, and we’re grateful he has found his way to CrossFit, and to our community.

He aims to give at least one helpful tip to every single person in the class each day. Craig takes great pride in seeing members progress their capabilities through his coaching. He is eager to further develop and hone his skills as a coach, and continue learning with an open mindset to new ideas as the sport evolves.

Jeannette Simpson
Coach & Nutritionist

  • Instagram

Jeannette is one of our newest recruits! She is a busy wife and mum of three.
A Qualified nutritionist, Certified Nutrition coach, Qualified Early Learning Educator, and now a Level 1 CrossFit Trainer, it’s of no surprise that Jeannette likes to take on new challenges with an open mindset.

Jeannette has always had a passion for health and fitness. She was a dancer growing up, and has always been active. Spending time with her family and exploring the outdoors is her favourite pastime, with her husband training and travelling for multiple Ironman competitions. Jeannette’s goal as a mother is to be the best role model she can be, with two of her three children attending classes here at our gym. She wants to be fit and healthy for as long as she can, to ensure she’s getting the most out of life…and to keep up with her kids!

In her adult life, Jeannette has been willing to try many different ways to stay active, but nothing compared to the variety and challenge of CrossFit. She discovered CrossFit in 2016, and started competing in Master’s competitions in her first year. She thrives on the support and encouragement that the CrossFit community has to offer.

Jeannette became a Level 1 Trainer in August 2022, because she was not only looking to further her own knowledge about CrossFit, but to help and encourage others with their training. She displays this on a daily basis! With her experience as a mother and working with children, coaching the Rookies and Teens is second nature to Jeannette. Coaching the adult classes that she has enjoyed being a part of for so many years just seems like a natural progression.
Jeannette will be offering nutrition coaching to those who are looking for individual-based nutrition support, and we’re incredibly excited to have her join the team! She looks forward to helping as many people on their journey to better health.

Christina Livaditakis Senior Coach

  • Instagram

Chris has been training CrossFit since 2017. Having come from a background in several sports, CrossFit was at first a means to remain fit and challenged.

Adapting to the sport incredibly well, Chris began coaching CrossFit in 2017 with an existing coaching background in high school water polo.

She discovered she was more passionate about the methodologies behind CrossFit, and from there her CrossFit coaching career took off in Zimbabwe for 1 year.

With 12 months under her belt, Chris made the move to Australia in 2018 where she continued to coach CrossFit in NSW between 2018-2022, leading to her arrival in QLD shortly after.

Her passion is to help create better lives for people who wish to put in the work to do so. Safety comes first, and she prides herself on delivering excellent coaching for members so that movement quality stays intact, and the members are getting the most out of their sessions with very little risk of injury. Of course having fun is a close second!

Words Chris lives by: "I believe everyone has the power to create the life they wish to live. I believe, no matter the privileges, that everyone is capable of turning their life into anything they wish it to be. Coming from a third world country, I have seen many people stuck in the mindset of settling for the life they have, but have also seen many great people turn their life around and that's exactly what I am trying to achieve and only wish to help others do the same thing through health and fitness."

Thomas Rowen

  • Instagram

Thomas started his fitness journey in 2011 which led him to CrossFit in 2012. Thomas has played sport, mainly cricket, his entire life but had very limited strength & conditioning training before finding CrossFit. Thomas fell in love with it due to its likeness of playing a team sport, the community it created, and the friendships it has provided. Thomas has been a member at CrossFit CrossAxed since 2019, with his wife starting her own CrossFit journey in November 2021.

Before he found a fitness routine, Thomas lived a very colourful life! Playing in bands since his youth had opened a doorway that led to a lifetime of partying. It may sound like fun to some, but takes a toll on your mental and physical health. Since starting CrossFit though, Thomas has quit smoking (a 17 year addiction), along with cutting out all alcohol & illicit substances. This didn't all happen at once, it was a gradual process that unfolded organically, after a slow realisation that his new love for CrossFit certainly didn't compliment his old lifestyle.

Thomas made a career change in 2019, completing his Cert 4 in Personal Training and in early 2020 opened his own PT business. Since starting his business, Thomas has completed; Level 1 Crossfit, The Crossfit Gymnastics Course, and the Birdbox Coaching Development course.

Although still being new to the fitness industry, Thomas is loving the journey and is passionate about helping others reach their goals - from the everyday to elite athletes. Now in his 40's, Thomas understands the needs of those serious about their fitness whilst still remembering what it's like to get started. You're in safe hands with Tommy, who is an inspiration to anyone who feels as though they don't know how to break some long term habits!
